Basic Calfskin Drum Heads

We carry basic grade calfskin heads in a limited range of sizes. Natural skin heads, traditional for rope tension field drums give you a full warm sound - they are also famously temperamental when exposed to high humidity.

We use the terminology "basic" to mean calfskin heads produced primarily in Pakistan that are a high import quality while not being as consistent as the "standard" calfskins in thickness and color. These calfskins are most appropriate for use by period reenactors and when restoring vintage drums and drums that are collectible for display, but are also an economical alternative to the higher priced "standard" calfskins.
